Surprise! No princess tiaras today, only crowns made for kings! Mr. and Mrs. Judkins’ held their much-anticipated gender reveal party on Sept. 17, 2025 in B118.

Yearbook students went all out in their celebration. They brought frosted sugar cookies, homemade fudge and gooey s’more brownies to share. The room buzzed with anticipation as everyone waited for the announcement. What will it be? Is it a baby boy or a tiny princess?

Shelby Holladay presented the idea to Mr. Judkins who agreed to make it happen.

“The party pretty much went as planned. Everyone brought food and drinks, and we had a lot of fun. I wasn’t expecting so many confetti poppers, but it made it better in my opinion. It let everyone in the class participate which is what I wanted. I was happy about the result because I was team boy from the start,” said Holladay.

Team girl, led by Makayla Vong-Quan, held most of the class. There were 14 people rooting for a girl, including herself, Taylor Montsion, Gabe Geiger and Dylan Edge.

“I was very excited to be the leader of Team Girl. The reason I was Team Girl is because Mr. Judkins is such a girl dad. He would not play about his daughter, but unfortunately we lost to team boy. I am very happy for Mr. and Mrs. Judkins, though,” said Vong-Quan.

The smaller Team Boy was led by Liz Warren with only five people, including Shelby Holladay, Willow Yockman and, of course, Warren herself.

“Everyone thought Team Girl had it in the bag just because there were more of them,” said Warren, “but numbers don’t mean much. We knew it was a boy from the start, so honestly, I wasn’t surprised.”

The expectant parents, however, knew which team was correct all along and were surprised by the sheer number of people on Team Girl.

After everyone enjoyed the potluck, the moment of truth arrived. The group gathered in a circle, poppers in hand, hearts racing with anticipation. A countdown filled the room. Then, a burst of blue confetti showered the crowd. Cheers, laughter, and joyful screams erupted as it was officially revealed: Baby Judkins is a boy!

“We would be excited for a girl or a boy, but we are excited to share with everyone that Baby Judkins is a boy! I can't even begin to describe how it feels to be a new dad! We are excited and looking forward to making all of the memories, being his parents and raising him well,” said Mr. Judkins.

Mrs. Judkins revealed the baby’s name, Levi Judkins, soon after the confetti popped.

Though most of the class had rooted for Team Girl, everyone celebrated together, congratulating the couple and offering their best wishes. The room was filled with joy, friendship and a sense of community that perfectly matched the spirit of the yearbook family.
