Dear Mount Juliet High School Class of 2020,
No words can express the deep grief and disappointment you all must be feeling after having the last few months of your senior year taken away. Every high schooler eagerly awaits the day they get to walk across the stage and receive their high school diploma. No one, our staff included, can possibly imagine what it feels like to have their senior night, senior breakfast, and senior prom all cancelled due to things out of their control.
Unlike previous senior classes, you never got the chance to say goodbye to the people you’ve had in your classes since middle school. You’ve had to miss out on some of the most fun parts of senior year because of a global pandemic. You must be thinking, “Why me??” and rightly so. It’s unfair.
We see you. We hear you. Your feelings are valid, and you have every right to be upset, even angry. Although it is sad to leave high school behind like this, the sun will shine again. There are bigger and better things ahead for you all. We are terribly sorry for what has happened.
All our love,
The Golden Bear Gazette Staff
