An abundance of new horror movies came out this year giving people spooky season vibes. Thankfully, that season is now here, and there are films to help prepare for future Halloween festivities. IT: Chapter 2, Annabelle 3 and Pet Sematary are all movies released this year that recieved great reviews and a whole lot of screams from audience members.
The IT sequel came out on Sept 6 and takes place during the adult lives of Eddie, Stanley, Bill, Ben, Beverly and Richie after the trauma they faced with killer clown Pennywise. Click here to read the Golden Bear Gazette article written by Sofia Nelson and Mia Agee that reviews the film.
The third movie in the Annabelle franchise released on June 26 and has already made 39 million dollars since it came out. The storyline of the film follows the characters Ed and Lorraine Warren as they try to keep psychotic doll Annabelle from terrorizing their 10-year-old daughter and unleashing evil among their household.
Pet Sematary hit theaters on April 5 and was a remake of the original movie published on Nov 14, 1983. Stephen King said that the new movie contained major changes but still held true to his book and the original film. After going to see it, King said he was very impressed with how it turned out.
There are thousands of thrill-filled horror movies out there, but these three came out in 2019 and gained much attention from the media. So grab your spooky socks, some candy corn and a friend to start binge-watching!
