The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (schedule) began on Sun. Feb. 10 and the 1000Bulbs 500 is one of the biggest races in the series. The 1000Bulbs 500 was the 31st race of the series, the fifth race of the playoffs and the second race of the Round of 12.
1000Bulbs 500 started up on Oct. 13, 2019 and finished on Oct. 14 (due to inclement weather) taking place at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. It consisted of 188 laps on the 2.66 miles superspeedway. The lineup started off with Chase Elliot at 49.692 seconds.
Ryan Blaney took home the win by less than a foot from Ryan Newman to score a season-saving victory that locked the No. 12 team into Round of 8. Throughout the race, many racers took the lead from time to time but ultimately, Blaney won. Ryan Newman, Denny Hamlin, Aric Almirola and Michael McDowell rounded out into the top five.
This win was Blaney’s first of 2019, third career Cup win, and 14th career NASCAR national series victory.
