The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival — better known as Coachella — is an annual festival that was originally founded by Paul Tollett in 1999. This event is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
According to Jessica Booth from the website Hello Giggles, “[Coachella] all started when the band Pearl Jam got in a fight with Ticketmaster over their service fees, claiming they were financially targeting both fans and artists. Because of this, Pearl Jam started to look into alternate venues for their Vs tour that didn’t include Ticketmaster.”
The 2019 Coachella festival recently took place from April 12-14, with the second part will being held from April 19-21. The main genres of music played at Coachella are rock, pop, independent music, hip hop and electronic dance.
The general admission three day pass costs $429 per person. The festival pass and the shuttle combo packages cost $504 per person. VIP passes are priced at $999 each, and preferred parking passes cost $150 per weekend. Since the festival is held in the Colorado desert, your best bet is to get passes for car camping, which are a little over $100.
On the first weekend of Coachella, Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande were the headliners. Along with them, Weezer and Billie Eilish made appearances, as well as many other stars and influencers.
Along with the art installations that Coachella features, the festival has also become a major fashion hotspot for bohemian-inspired styles. One of the biggest “requirements” for going to Coachella is that you have to show up in some kind of memorable outfit. All of the stars and influencers scramble to put together an outstanding outfit that wows everyone around them.
2019 Coachella was filled with not only memorable outfits, but memorable experiences as well. Everybody is already on the edge of their seats to see how next year will compare to this year.
