Modern Life Is Growing Apart from the Natural World

As humanity has progressed through the ages, we’ve grown farther and farther apart from nature. From factories to the Internet, our lives are separating from the natural world around us at an alarming rate. One man who goes by the YouTube name of Primitive Technology is looking to change that.

Primitive Technology, also known as David Malina, lives in north Queensland, Australia, where he camps out in the wild and creates things from nothing more than his own hands.

Since starting the channel in May of 2015, he has amassed over 6.5 million subscribers. Over the course of two years and 31 videos, he has built everything from a pair of sandals to a house simply because he enjoys it.

Modern man can learn a thing or two from him. Our world is surrounded by things like cell phones, computers and air conditioning. We’ve gotten so used to the things that make life easier for us that we would not be able to survive in the wild.

I am not saying people should go out and live in the wilderness, but I am saying that something similar to that could be beneficial. Camping has been shown to have many health benefits, and is relatively inexpensive.

Large corporate companies may have fooled you into believing that you need to spend a lot of money on supplies for camping. Well, that just is not true. All you really need to go camping is the clothes on your back. Food and shelter can easily be found or created in a couple hours.

Camping is not only good for helping you get in touch with nature. The fresh air is much healthier than urban or suburban air, exposure to the sun is a great source of vitamin D, the exercise is great for your body and camping is a social activity that can help you get in touch with your close friends and family.
