Every year, the Mount Juliet Middle School band (excluding the sixth graders) joins the Mount Juliet High School Band of Gold on the famed MJHS football field for a joint production.
This anticipated performance will take place tonight, Friday, Sept. 29.
The middle schoolers will arrive at Mount Juliet High School at 12:30p.m. and will stay to rehearse with the Band of Gold until they march into the stadiums at 6:30p.m.
m., the joined bands will perform together for an invigorating pre-game show.
Members of the MJMS band are both excited and anxious to be performing with the award-winning Band of Gold.
CJ Mizell is one member of the concert and jazz band at MJMS. His feelings regarding tonight teeter between concern and enthusiasm.
“I’m not really nervous about performing with the Band of Gold because I did last year in seventh grade. I did think it was a good experience, though,” said Mizell.
The combination of the middle and high school bands is a momentous tradition, furthermore, a learning experience. Both students of the middle school and high school bands will benefit from performing together.
Students at MJMS will have the opportunity to experience the throws of high school marching band. Participating in this will grant a memorable experience and aid them in choosing their path for high school.
